Position Overview:

We seek an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. Lead Carpenters perform various tasks in all stages of construction, ensure building codes and regulations compliance, and are responsible for productively and effectively leading teams and sites. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in carpentry, have strong leadership qualities, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency on every project.

Location: Sunshine Coast, B.C.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize carpentry tools and equipment to perform various tasks in all stages of residential construction.

• Read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and specifications.

• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permits.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful work environment.

• Troubleshoot and solve problems with precision and accuracy.

• Assist the Foreman and/or Project Manager in planning and coordinating tasks, tools and materials, crew and trades.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with crew members, clients and trades to ensure project success.

• Complete assigned tasks within established timelines and budgets, reporting progress as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction at a Carpenter level.

• Competence in at least 2 of the main building stages: formwork, framing, siding, and finishing.

• Carpentry tools and PPE.

• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Sunshine Coast.

• Ability to lift 60 lbs as required.

• Red Seal Journeyman Carpentry Certification is a strong asset.
