Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Project Manager to organize, and oversee multiple construction projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills, a deep understanding of leading BC construction practices, and the ability to manage project teams successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute construction projects from start to finish, including project scheduling, budgeting, resource management, procurement, subcontracting, and overseeing construction activities.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of construction practices, standards, codes, regulations, and technologies, and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

  • Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial aspects, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs and adjustments as needed to remain within budget.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing effective risk management strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Oversee vendor contract management, including reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with sub-trades and suppliers, and ensuring contract compliance.

  • You are a people person first! Lead and manage project teams, supervise site crew, provide clear direction, and foster a collaborative work environment while resolving challenges and conflicts.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, sub-trades, and suppliers, ensuring client expectations are managed, and relationships are maintained.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports and safety documents, and provide regular project status updates to clients and management.

  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that all work meets project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.

  • Identify and solve problems that arise during construction, making timely decisions based on project constraints and client needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.

  • 5-10 years of previous experience as a Foreman in the construction industry, including within a residential, multifamily and commercial scope.

  • In-depth understanding and applied knowledge of construction practices and standards, official provincial and municipal codes and regulations, and technologies.

  • Applied knowledge and experience with municipal permitting practices.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully manage and motivate teams.

  • Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, cost and materials estimating.

  • Proficiency in contract management, including negotiation and compliance, as well as bid proposals.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and subcontractors.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proven experience in risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making.

What We Offer:

  • Hourly wage of $50/hr - $55/hr, depending on skills and experience.
